Happy Hour! M'aidez!
The ever-awesome Charissa and I are hosting the next Blogger Happy Hour on May Day, May 1st. And by "hosting", I mean "want an excuse to go drink".
This is the first Thursday in May, and we've chosen what we think is a "central" location - Dougherty's Pub in the Mount Vernon area. It is also a convenient stumble from my house, which is of course completely coincidental. Behold:

We have met with the Baltimore Blogger Central Committee*, and it appears that this date works for at least enough people to make a respectable (disrespectful?) showing, so there you go.
* ie: I cut-n-pasted the email addresses from the last Happy Hour.

I Want This So Badly I Can Taste It
Shame about the exchange rate, shame about the abject lack of finished walls in my house...

Laaaaa-zeee...
Not that this represents what I've been doing instead of posting (although it pretty much does), but there's this here editorial in the Sun from a week or so ago... I read it, fine, I said, and went to read the comments. Wow. From the first person who seems to think he or she is writing a poem, to pretty much everyone except me and a couple of "yeah, what he saids", what a bunch of heartless assholes (I bowdlerized that for my comment).
I'd like to think that my follow-up comment quieted all my detractors, but I suspect they really just lost interest and went somewhere else to post inane accusations of prO-Malley bias.
It is worth noting that I don't know for sure that I'm right here; I pulled the observation about the affected demographic out of my ass. I don't have any love for McMansion owners, it just seems logically impossible that given what percentage of houses ARE McMansions, and given the relative liquidity of owners of McMansions, that they represent the bulk of the foreclosures.
Mostly, though, these idiots need to see an opposing view now and again.
